Electric Cars for Guyana.

Electric mobility and transportation offer a low-cost alternative to traveling and the minimization of combustion energy and harmful emissions. The electric vehicle (EV) uses one or more than one electric motors or traction motors for propulsion, eliminating the need for fuel or gas.

In developing countries, governments are putting a lot of extra effort into making electric mobility more affordable and simplified. Due to the lack of charging infrastructure, the country cannot completely rely on EV’s completely, but a shift from the usage of internal combustion engine vehicles to EVs is a must. The government of Guyana is giving relaxation in terms of customs duty while encouraging people to move towards a greener tomorrow. This shift in dynamics gives importers a great opportunity to disrupt the market and help the country while enabling a sustainable future. 

The decrease in custom-duties, exemptions for the import of EV’s, and the ban on import restrictions, a lot of electric vehicles can now be seen in Guyana. The government’s use of electric vehicles such as the Nissan Leaf is shaping the future. Brand new cars, electric cars, or electric vehicles – EVs are available for fast importing all across Guyana. Citing the coalition administration’s push towards the greener economy, the GEA Guyana Energy Agency has also unveiled the first government-owned fully-electric-car, Nissan Leaf. From the conversion of the current government fleet to EVs and the population more inclined towards Electric Vehicles, Guyana is certainly moving towards a greener and more sustainable future.
